Changes are Brewing: Update
This last month has been a doozy! I’ve never managed to not have a hectic October and I don’t see that changing in the near future, at least for a while. It is my favorite month after all, consisting of my absolute favorite holiday. For these reasons I have been strikingly absent from this, my website. So I felt I owed my readers an explanation.
Now, I have done my best to keep up with my reviews, but I won’t lie the last book, Jim Henson’s biography, well that nearly wrecked me. It was so long and cumbersome that I needed to take a break, at least for a little while and I did. I also knew that even if I hadn’t read that book, October was going to be a slow month in the reading department, so it all seemed serendipitous.
As of now I am back at work reading to bring you even more cracking book reviews. However, during this time away I have also needed to reflect on a few personal things in my life and with that came the hard decision to discontinue the tea pairing/tasting aspect of this site. This means I have cancelled my subscription to Sipsby.
The big reason this cut back is happening is because I’ve decided to focus more on my health, as of late it has been disturbingly sad. I am very much overweight and would like to rectify that situation with the most healthy means available to me. That means eating better and using what little time I have and allocating some to exercise. I used to exercise, a lot. I love to swim and when I was at my best, swimming a mile a day 5 days a week, I felt incredible. I want that feeling again, but some sacrifices need to be made.
I am bummed, but it won’t be a hard stop. I still have boxes from my subscription that I haven’t even touched yet. So, I will make my way through those and once I have that will be that. I in no way made this decision lightly as I loved my subscription to Sipsby and if things change in the future I will reevaluate my subscription status. I’m sorry if this is a disappointment, but I will press on and continue with the book reviews, which I promise will never end.
I am currently deep in the bowels (there’s a pun there somewhere) of two books that I intend to finish in the next week. They are The Alehouse at the End of the World by Stevan Allred and Supernatural Slayer (Supernatural Slayer #1) by Devyn Jayse.
I predict November to be a month of catch up, but in no way do I expect there to be down time. But don’t worry, I should be fine…
