Box Reveal

August Sipsby Box Reveal!

Another month has come and gone and with it a new Sipsby box has arrived on my doorstep. Now I know that I am tragically behind in tasting/pairing these teas off, but I can’t help but be overjoyed at adding even more teas to my collection. Though this month will tragically only add 3 versus the standard 4 due to a recall that the great people at Sipsby were kind enough to inform me of. Despite that I will however still list the entirety of the box for fun.

I was excited to see a selection that included bigger sampling sizes. Though I have not had the opportunity to double dip into my teas as it were, at some point I would love to re-taste the ones I loved. Having a larger sample means that I will more than likely get to enjoy them more than once over, which is a win in my book.

First up we have the High-Caffeine teas!

Kanchanjangha Noir by Nepal Tea

This tea has a distinct brisk flavor with a deep and vibrant reddish brown infusion. The high elevation of the tea bushes results in a fresh fruity/flowery aroma with hints of caramel.

Sounds like it will be a good tea to heat up as the holidays draw near. I get the impression that I will be consuming more teas as the year comes to a close.

Basil Ginger Yerba Mate by Ayam Energy **RECALLED**

This blend of yerba mate and herbal magic works to boost energy, immunity, metabolism, fitness and focus. Warm basil and spicy ginger power your will and focus your energy!

I will admit that I am not the biggest fan of herbal teas, though I have been enjoying tasting the few I have from my Sipsby boxes. So I am not completely devastated by the fact that it is an herbal tea that I have to cast aside, however, the ingredients are unique and I think given the chance I could have enjoyed this one.

Next we have one Low Caffeine.

Lemongrass Tranquility Green Tea by Udyan Tea

This refreshing blend of green tea with lemongrass and mint is sure to rejuvenate your mind and soul. It can be enjoyed as an iced tea too – by itself, or with a dash of honey.

I want to say that this is the first green tea I have received that I can also cold brew, which I totally plan on doing. If there is one thing I love more than green tea, it’s iced green tea!

Lastly, a single Caffeine-Free.

Bliss by Flower Girl Apothecarie

This joy-bringing blend of calming and mood-lifting herbs will help bring you to a state of bliss! Enjoy a warm cup after a long day to relax and unwind.

I like that they keep sending me stress relief teas, cant receive too many of those. But in all seriousness, it is nice to have a great selection at the tip of my fingers whenever a day has gotten the best of me. I look forward to relaxing with this tea.

The usual strong aroma from the box didn’t greet me this time, but I suspect it is because this month it was all about the herbs versus the spices. I hope that this changes as we move into fall. For me the Halloween season started after the fourth of July and I expect most, if not all, people to get on board.

This will definitely be a box of teas that is hard to not dive into right away, but I have at least 3 other months of boxes that I need to start getting through. I think I need to make an affirmation to that effect. Minimum a single tea taste a week should do it.

Until next time. Brew, Drink, and Read!
